PRODUCERS, Abomb and Joseph Michael met in a sound recording class Spring of 2014, while attending Miami Dade College. Abomb introduced himself after overhearing Joseph Michael singing and playing his own rendition of 'Santeria' by Sublime on the piano. They both recognized each other's true talent and potential to not only be incredible musicians together, but business partners as well. Once in the studio, the vibe between them musically and personally was undeniable. Three months later, Abomb and Joseph Michael joined forces to open their own studio. Bangers began to flow. With sounds and skill sets complementing each other so effortlessly, they decided to make the collaboration official in 2016. Together, they named the new DJ duo CASHÆ, and worked together to define their own sound in the industry: Trapical.
CASHÆ's Trapical sound is a perfect blend of everything today's youth want to hear right now: Pop, EDM, nostalgic RnB, with Latin undertones (Alex is Puerto Rican and Joseph is Cuban). Their unique sound weaves together multiple genres at once, creating a refreshing, global sound that appeals to the masses. Joseph Michael Barrios was born and raised in Miami, Florida to a Cuban father and Canadian mother. As a lifelong actor, he starred in several feature films, as well as highly acclaimed projects with NBC, HBO, Gatorade, and Home Depot, acting alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Steven Bauer, Gunplay, YD, Poeta Callejera, Jimkie Johnson and Jeffrey Whalberg.
A multi-instrumentalist, Joseph Michael plays the piano, drums, guitar, bass and is a skilled vocalist. He harnessed his musical talent early by playing with a church band beginning at the age of 4. In addition to his love for acting and playing instruments, Joseph Michael has been DJing for over a decade. His fluency in music theory allowed him to take on a role as a writer and producer beginning in 2012. He derives his current musical stylization from influences such as Dillon Francis, Skrillex, Diplo, Zedd, Deadmau5, Jack Ü, The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, A-Trak, Major Lazer, Lookas, Marshmello, SMLE, Slushii, Snails, Gent & Jawns, Ookay, Nero, Jauz, Valentino Khan, Croatia Squad, Flume, Kygo, Shaun Frank, Oliver Heldens, Pierce Fulton Thomas Jack, Sam Feldt, Deorro, Drake, Noah 40 Shebib, Pharrell, Rick Ruben, JayZ, Bob Marley, Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution and Linkin Park, and genres including folk, country, rnb, hip hip, reggae, rock, punk rock, dub step, house, tropical house, techno, drum and bass and festival trap.
Armed with separate degrees in Music & Theater and Music Business Creative Production, Joseph Michael combines his skills as producer, DJ and singer for the music duo, CASHÆ.
Alejandro "Abomb" Fernandez was was raised in between Puerto Rico and Honduras, moving to Florida when he was 14 years old. This eclectic mix of nationalities and environments explains Abomb’s natural propensity for catering to demographics of all kinds. At an early age, he discovered his interest and gift for being a creative conceptualizer within all aspects of music production and business. As a result of nurturing his aptitude as a vocalist, as well as playing instruments including piano, guitar and bass, Abomb took on leading roles in bands such as FATE (Five Across The Eyes) and 24 Hours To Live. Experience in these bands garnered Abomb with both local and national notoriety through countless live performances and touring.
His greatest musical influences include Kanye West, Bob Marley, Diplo, Skrillex, Kygo, Three 6 Mafia, Rancid, UGK, and genres such as American dance pop, Reggae, Punk Rock and Trap. Abomb is a graduate of Miami Dade College’s music school, specializing in creative production and music business, arming him as a triple threat; musician, producer and businessman. His current role as producer, singer and musician for the innovative duo, CASHÆ, brings all of these talents together into one.
